My Favorite Prayers of Surrender By Marianne Williamson
Surrender is a profound act of faith. It allows us to trust that there is a higher plan at work in our lives.
Marianne Williamson, a renowned spiritual teacher and author, has beautifully captured this concept in her prayers of surrender. Her words encourage us to let go of personal struggles, trust in divine guidance, and embrace a life of purpose and service.
Below you’ll find some of my favorite prayers by Marianne Williamson, along with insights on what it means to be a priestess, stepping into a role of sacred service in this life.
What is a Priestess?
A priestess is more than just a title; she is a vessel for divine wisdom and guidance. Historically, priestesses were spiritual leaders, often serving as intermediaries between the divine and the earthly realm. In modern times, the role of the priestess has evolved, but the essence remains the same—she is a woman who is deeply connected to her spirituality, embracing her role as a channel for divine will.
Marianne Williamson, through her teachings and prayers, embodies the modern-day priestess. Her prayers invite us to release our ego-driven desires and allow the divine to work through us. As she often encourages, the key to living a purposeful life is surrendering our will to that of the divine.
As we open ourselves to become sacred vessels, we create space for divine wisdom and guidance to flow through us. This is the core of what it means to live as a priestess—acting as a bridge between the human and the spiritual, and allowing ourselves to be moved by the spirit.
Writing Your Own Prayer of Surrender
In my Priestess Program, I invite women to write their own personal prayers of surrender, offering their will to the divine. This prayer can be a daily reminder of our commitment to allow spirit to guide our thoughts, actions, and choices. Imagine beginning each day by speaking your personal prayer, offering yourself as a vessel for divine guidance. What would it be like to surrender your will to that of the divine, allowing your life to be led by love and wisdom?
As we open to become the vessel, the sacred chalice to empty out and receive divine guidance and wisdom, I invite you to write your own personal prayer.
This prayer is in invitation to "Offer my will to thy will"
To connect with and speak to the divine, and allow "Spirit to speak through me as me"
To move, act, and give in all the ways spirit calls us to.
Maybe you'd like to post this personal prayer on your bathroom mirror, so you are reminded to speak it every day.
What would it be like to begin each day offering your will to the will of the divine?
As the Priestess, we empty out to become the vessel for the divine to move through us, as us. It helps us to release personal motivations related to ego, and truly be of service in whatever way Spirit would move us to.
When we embody this prayer, we are transformed. Life becomes so much more about service and connection with the divine. We learn to step aside and allow the Holiness of Life move through us.
